16362646138_ce42b966bc_bJust one day after FBI Director James Comey announced that his agency will not recommend criminal charges for Hillary Clinton over her email practices while secretary of state, Rep. Jason Chaffetz has confirmed that Comey will testify before the House Oversight Committee on Thursday:

“The FBI’s recommendation is surprising and confusing. The fact pattern presented by Director Comey makes clear Secretary Clinton violated the law. Individuals who intentionally skirt the law must be held accountable,” Chaffetz released in a statement Wednesday. “Congress and the American people have a right to understand the depth and breadth of the FBI’s investigation. I thank Director Comey for accepting the invitation to publicly answer these important questions.”

Additionally, Attorney General Loretta Lynch will testify before the House Judiciary Committee next week:

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) said Wednesday that the FBI’s decision not to recommend charges against Clinton “raises serious questions” and is “uniquely troubling in light of Attorney General Lynch’s secret meeting with former President Bill Clinton.”

“No one is above the law and the American people need to know that federal law enforcement is taking this misconduct seriously,” Goodlatte said in a statement, saying the hearing would also focus on the Justice Department’s handling of the mass shootings in Orlando, Fla., and San Bernardino, Calif., both of which have links to terrorism.

“I look forward to hearing from Attorney General Lynch and learning more about how she and the Justice Department are addressing these important issues,” he said.

The FBI’s investigation into Clinton’s private server revealed her complete disregard for safeguarding sensitive national intelligence and confirmed her penchant for lying. Yet, somehow, she’s walking away untouched. It certainly will be interesting to see what the House committees will uncover.
